Extend Roof Life with Aquapol
Aquapol is designed not only for emergency leak repairs but also as a cost-effective method to extend the life of flat and pitched roofs. A single coat creates a fully bonded, seamless membrane that resists weathering, water ingress, and mechanical stress. The addition of milled fibres strengthens the cured coating, ensuring a tough and resilient finish.
Suitable Surfaces
Aquapol liquid roofing systems adhere to a wide range of roofing materials, including:
- Felt and asphalt.
- Lead and metal roofs.
- Fibrous cement and asbestos.
- Fibreglass and PVC roofing sheets.
- Existing coatings (adhesion testing recommended before full application).
Useful Information
- Container sizes: 5kg and 20kg.
- Coverage: 1–2m² per kg (average).
- Shelf life: 12 months in unopened containers under good storage conditions.
- Drying time: 48–72 hours depending on ambient temperature.
- Weather tightness: immediate, even during wet conditions.
Preparation
Surfaces should be clean and free of loose or friable materials. Small cracks or splits can be good by brushing/stippling the coating into them, larger cracks or holes should be made good prior to coating, this can be achieved by use of Seal IT PU mastic or by using a scrim between coats of Aquapol.
Whilst Aquapol will tolerate being applied to a damp surface, as with any application dry conditions will result in the best results.
Application
It is good practice to treat detailing areas firstly, in areas where excessive movement may occur, additional reinforcement can be incorporated into the coating. Aquapol is easily applied with a brush or roller; on flat smooth surfaces a squeegee can be used.
Aquapol can be applied as a one coat application, if required subsequent coats can be applied after curing. Coverage is 1-2 m² per kilo dependent on the porosity of the surface being applied to.
